AI Receptionist for Electricians
Johnni answers while you are inside a switchboard. It works out whether it is a dead circuit, a safety switch that will not stay in or a quote for a rewire, and books it into your calendar before the caller rings the next sparky on Google.
Plans start at $44/mo No contract.
Why electricians miss the calls that matter
Most calls arrive while you are on live work, up a ladder or in a roof space. The caller does not leave a message. They ring the next electrician on Google.
You cannot answer mid-job
Hands in a switchboard and the phone buzzing in your pocket is an everyday clash.
Johnni answers on the first ring in your business name and books the job while you finish the one you are on.
Safety calls cannot wait
A burning smell or a safety switch that will not reset needs a different answer from a quote request.
It asks the safety questions first, tells the caller what to do right now and puts emergencies through to you on your rules.
Quote requests turn into phone tag
Rewires, switchboard upgrades and EV chargers all need details before you can price them.
It captures the job, the property and the access before it books, so your callback is a quote, not a questionnaire.
After-hours calls go to voicemail
Power outages and faults do not keep office hours.
It answers 24/7 and follows your after-hours rules: book it, take the details, or ring the on-call electrician.
Live work and ringing phones do not mix.
You cannot take a call with your hands in a board, and you should not try. So it rings out, nobody leaves a message, and by the time you are back in the ute they have booked someone else.
The calls you miss are rarely the small ones. A safety switch tripping at 7pm, a hot water system with no power, an agent chasing a compliance certificate before settlement. Those are the ones that pay.

Is there power at all?
Whole house, one circuit or one powerpoint. What else stopped working, whether the neighbours have power, whether the main switch has already been reset.
Is anything unsafe now?
Burning smell, buzzing, sparks, water near a board, a lead that has gone hot. Those get escalated to you the moment they are said, not filed for the morning.
Job or quote?
A tripping safety switch is a job. A rewire, a board upgrade or a new build fitout is a quote and a site visit. They do not belong in the same slot.
This is what 40 seconds sounds like.
The caller has no power to half the house. Johnni has never met them before.
Hi, half our power has gone out. The kitchen and the lounge are dead.
No worries, I can help with that. Has the safety switch at the main board tripped, and does it stay on when you push it back up?
It flicks straight back down.
That usually means something on the circuit is faulting. Can you smell anything burning, or hear any buzzing near the board?
There is a bit of a burnt smell actually, near the laundry.
Thanks for telling me, that makes it a priority. Leave that circuit switched off and do not use the laundry powerpoints. What is the street address?
14 Bower Street, Kedron.
Got it. Ray can be there tonight at 7:40. After hours call-out is $180 plus parts. Does that work?
Yes please.
What lands in your calendar, call by call.
| The call | What Johnni does | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| No power to half the house | Asks what tripped, whether it resets, what was running | Urgent booking with the symptoms attached |
| Quote for a board upgrade | Address, age of the board, asbestos, photos if they have them | Quote visit in its own slot |
| Agent chasing a safety certificate | Property, agency, settlement date | Booking plus the deadline noted |
| After hours, not urgent | Books the first slot you really have tomorrow | No 2am callout for a flickering light |
| Existing customer ringing back | Recognises them, picks up from last time | Context, not a cold start |
Works with the software electricians already run
Google Calendar is included on every plan. ServiceM8, Simpro, AroFlo and Tradify, and other job software, connect as a custom integration scoped to how you work.
If your software has an API, Johnni can usually work with it. Ask us about yours.
An electrical contractor put Johnni on both its day line and its after-hours line.
A national electrical and fire compliance contractor runs Johnni on its day line, where regular site contacts are recognised by number, and on its after-hours line, where it rings on-call operators one after another until somebody accepts the job. The numbers are theirs.

Frequently asked questions
Can it tell a real electrical emergency from a job that can wait?
It asks the questions that separate them: whether there is power at all, whether anything is burning, buzzing or hot, whether water is involved, and whether the safety switch resets. Anything with a safety flag is escalated the moment it is said.
You set the rules. Some sparkies want every no-power call rung through, others only after hours.
Does it know my rates and my service area?
Yes. Your call-out fee, your after-hours rate, the suburbs you cover and the work you do not take. If someone rings from outside your area or asks for solar or data when you do not do it, Johnni says so instead of booking a job you have to cancel.
Will it double book me?
No. It reads your calendar before it offers anything, so it only offers slots you are genuinely free for, then writes the booking back with the address and the fault on it.
What about compliance certificates and agents?
Agents ring during the day, which is when you are least able to answer. Johnni takes the property, the agency, the contact and the settlement deadline, books the inspection and passes it on with the date noted.
Do I have to change my number?
No. Your number stays yours. Calls divert on the rules you choose: everything, after hours only, or just the ones you have not picked up within a few rings.
How much does it cost?
Plans start at $49 a month plus GST, or $44 a month paid annually, up to $899 for the highest call volumes. Every plan includes a set number of calls and minutes, then a per minute rate, with a 7 day free trial and no lock-in contract.
Hear it answer as your electrical business.
Seven days free. Give it your rates, your suburbs and your rules, then ring it yourself and throw a dead circuit at it.
