AI Receptionist for Beauty Salons
Johnni answers while you are mid colour or mid treatment, books the right service for the right length of time with the right person, handles the reschedules, and rings back the people who did not show.
Plans start at $44/mo No contract.
Why salons lose bookings on their busiest days
The phone rings hardest when every chair is full and nobody can answer it. Most callers do not leave a message. They book somewhere else.
Hands are full with clients
Mid colour or mid treatment is exactly when the phone rings.
Johnni answers every call and books the appointment without anyone leaving the chair.
Services need the right time and the right person
A cut and a full colour are not the same appointment.
It books the right service, the right length of time and the right stylist or therapist.
Reschedules and cancellations eat the day
Moving appointments by phone is constant and slow.
It handles reschedules and cancellations on your rules and keeps your book up to date.
No-shows leave empty chairs
A missed appointment is income you cannot get back.
On the Starter plan it can ring back no-shows and clients who are due to rebook.
The phone rings hardest when nobody can answer it.
A salon phone rings hardest between 10am and 2pm, which is exactly when every chair is full and every pair of hands is busy. The call goes unanswered, the caller books somewhere else, and nobody ever knows it happened.
Then there is the evening. People decide they need their hair done at 9pm on a Sunday, and a message bank will not take that booking.
- Answers while your hands are in someone’s hair
- Takes bookings at 9pm on a Sunday
- Handles reschedules and cancellations without a call back
- Rings back no-shows and lapsed clients
- Sends the confirmation and the reminder itself
The booking you lose at 1pm on a Saturday is the one that walks past your window next week with someone else’s colour.
An AI receptionist that keeps your book full
Johnni knows your services, your team and how long everything takes.
- Answers every call 24/7, even when every chair is full
- Books the right service, length and team member
- Handles reschedules and cancellations on your rules
- Answers questions about services, prices and first visits
- Talks to website visitors by text or voice on the Solo plan
- Rings back no-shows and rebooking reminders on the Starter plan
A cut and a full colour are not the same appointment.
The fastest way to wreck a salon day is a booking in the wrong length slot with the wrong person. Johnni books from your actual service list.
The right service
It asks what they want done, in the words clients actually use, and maps it to your service list. Half head foils, balayage, a toner, a treatment, or just a trim.
The right duration
Each service carries its own duration in your system and Johnni books that, so a three hour colour never lands in a forty five minute gap.
The right person
Clients ask for their stylist or therapist by name. Johnni checks that person’s availability first and offers someone else only if they are booked.
Saturday, 12:50pm, every chair full.
Hi, can I get in for a colour next week? I usually see Jess.
Of course. Is that a full colour, or foils, or a toner and cut?
Half head foils and a trim.
Half head foils with a trim, so about two and a half hours with Jess. She has Thursday at 9:30 or Friday at 1. Which one?
Friday at 1 please.
Booked, Friday 1pm with Jess. You will get a text confirmation now and a reminder the day before. If you need to move it, just reply to the text.
The quiet money: reschedules, no-shows and rebooking.
| The situation | What Johnni does | The result |
|---|---|---|
| Client needs to move an appointment | Finds another slot on the call | Kept booking instead of a cancellation |
| Cancellation inside your window | Explains your policy calmly, in your words | Policy applied without an argument |
| No-show | Rings them back and offers a new time | Recovered rather than written off |
| Gap in the day | Calls the waitlist | Filled chair |
| Client not seen in six months | Outbound call to rebook | Reactivated client |
Works with the calendar and booking tools salons use
Google Calendar is included on every plan, and the free Scheduler gives you your own online booking page. Salon software with an API can connect as a custom integration.
If your software has an API, Johnni can usually work with it. Ask us about yours.
112 trial classes booked from followed-up leads.
There is no salon case study on the site yet. The closest is an appointment-based business that fills its bookings from enquiries. A Queensland martial arts centre uses Johnni to ring its web and ad leads, answer their questions and offer a trial class. 112 of the 129 people it reached booked a trial.

Frequently asked questions
Will it book the right service length?
Yes, because it books from your service list and each service carries its own duration. A full head of foils books three hours, a fringe trim books fifteen minutes, and your day still works.
Can clients ask for a specific stylist or therapist?
Yes. It checks that person’s calendar first and only offers somebody else if they are fully booked, the way you would at the front desk.
Does it handle cancellations and my cancellation policy?
It explains your policy in your words and tries to reschedule before it cancels, which is usually what saves the booking. Everything is logged so you can see what was said.
Can it ring people back?
Yes. The outbound side rings no-shows, fills gaps from a waitlist and reactivates clients who have not been in for a while. For salons that is often where it pays for itself.
Will my clients mind talking to an AI?
Some will notice and some will not. What matters is that the phone is answered on the first ring at 1pm on a Saturday and the booking is correct. The alternative is a message bank, and nobody prefers that.
How much does it cost?
Plans start at $49 a month plus GST, or $44 a month paid annually, up to $899 for the highest call volumes. Every plan includes a set number of calls and minutes, then a per minute rate, with a 7 day free trial and no lock-in contract.
Stop washing your hands to answer the phone.
Seven days free. Load your service list and let it take a week of bookings.
