AI Receptionist for Appliance Repair
Johnni answers while you are under a dishwasher, gets the brand, the model, the fault and the suburb in the first minute, checks whether it is a warranty job, and books the repair into the next slot on your run.
Plans start at $44/mo No contract.
Why appliance repairers lose jobs before they start
Every call starts with a broken machine and a worried owner. If you do not answer, the next repairer on the list will.
You are under a machine when it rings
Most calls land while you are elbow-deep in a dishwasher.
Johnni answers every call and books the repair into the next slot on your run.
Jobs need the right details first
Without the brand, model and fault, you arrive without the right part.
It collects brand, model, fault and suburb in the first minute, so you arrive prepared.
Warranty and parts calls waste time
Warranty claims, parts enquiries and brands you do not service all ring the same number.
It checks warranty status and handles parts and out-of-scope calls on your rules.
Your area and run matter
A job across town in the wrong slot costs you an hour of driving.
It checks the suburb against your service area and books around the run you already have.
An AI receptionist that books repairs properly
Johnni asks what a technician needs to know, in the order a technician asks it.
- Answers every call 24/7 in your business name
- Captures brand, model, fault and suburb on every call
- Checks warranty status before booking
- Books repairs into your calendar or job software, around your run
- Handles parts, warranty and out-of-area calls on your rules
- Gives the technician the full job notes before the van leaves
Brand, model, fault, suburb. In that order.
A repair booking without the model number is a wasted trip. Johnni gets the four things a technician needs before it offers a time.
| It asks for | Why it matters | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| The appliance and the brand | Different techs, different vans, different parts | The right tech on the booking |
| The model number off the plate | Parts can be ordered before the visit | Fewer second trips |
| The fault, in the customer’s words | Not draining, not heating, tripping the power, a noise | A diagnosis head start |
| The suburb | You do not drive 40 minutes for a $150 call-out | Only jobs inside your area |
| Age and warranty | Manufacturer warranty jobs are billed differently | Warranty flagged up front |
A washing machine full of water, 7:40am.
Hi, my washing machine has stopped mid cycle and it is full of water.
That is annoying with a full drum. What brand is it, and is it a front loader or a top loader?
A Bosch front loader.
Thanks. There is usually a model number on a sticker inside the door or on the back. Can you read it to me, or text it to this number later?
I will text it, I cannot see it right now.
No problem, I will send you a text now to reply to. Roughly how old is it, and is it still under warranty?
About six years, so no.
Okay. And what suburb are you in?
Mount Lawley.
Good, that is in our area. A drain fault on a front loader is usually a pump or a blockage, so it is a standard call-out. Thursday between 8 and 10 is the first slot. Does that work?
Yes, Thursday is fine.
Booked. You will get a text now with the call-out fee and a reminder the night before. If you can, leave the door open so the drum can drain a little.
What the technician gets before the van leaves.
A job with the detail on it
Appliance, brand, model, fault description, age, warranty status, address and the customer’s preferred contact. It lands in your job system or calendar, not on a sticky note.
The recording and the transcript
Every call is in the portal. If the customer said the machine made a grinding noise before it stopped, the tech can hear it in their words.
A customer who knows the fee
Johnni quotes your call-out fee on the call and confirms it by text, so nobody argues about it at the door.
Fewer no-answers on the return trip
If a part has to come in, Johnni rings the customer to book the second visit when it arrives, so the tech is not chasing them between jobs.
Parts, warranty claims and the ones you do not want.
Parts enquiries
Someone wants a door seal or a filter. Johnni takes the model number and what they need, and sends it to you as a message rather than a booking.
Manufacturer warranty
If you do warranty work for a brand, Johnni knows which ones and captures the purchase date and the retailer. If you do not, it says so politely and points them to the manufacturer.
The brands you do not touch
Set the list. A commercial coffee machine or a brand you never service gets a courteous no and a suggestion, not a booking you have to cancel.
Works with the software repairers already run
Google Calendar is included on every plan. ServiceM8, Simpro and Tradify, and other job software, connect as a custom integration scoped to how you work.
If your software has an API, Johnni can usually work with it. Ask us about yours.
Two appliance repairers, one AI receptionist, 524 repairs booked.
Two Australian appliance repair businesses, one in Perth and one in Melbourne, run Johnni on their inbound lines. Brand, model, fault and suburb are captured on every call and the repair is booked into the technician’s run. The numbers are theirs, and the full breakdown of where every call went is on the case study.

Frequently asked questions
Will it get the model number?
It asks for it, tells the customer where to find it, and if they cannot read it on the call it sends a text for them to reply to. The model number is attached to the job when it arrives.
Can it tell warranty jobs from paid jobs?
Yes. It asks the age of the appliance and whether it is under warranty, and if you do manufacturer warranty work it captures the purchase details. Warranty jobs are flagged on the booking so they are billed the right way.
Does it only book jobs inside my service area?
Yes. You set the suburbs or the radius. Callers outside it are told so kindly and, if you like, given the name of someone you refer to.
Can it quote my call-out fee?
It quotes the fee you give it, on the call and again by text, so the customer has agreed to it before the technician arrives.
What about the second visit when a part comes in?
Johnni can ring the customer to book the return visit once you mark the part as received, so the technician is not chasing people between jobs.
How much does it cost?
Plans start at $49 a month plus GST, or $44 a month paid annually, up to $899 for the highest call volumes. Every plan includes a set number of calls and minutes, then a per minute rate, with a 7 day free trial and no lock-in contract.
Stop answering the phone from under a dishwasher.
Seven days free. Give it your brands, your suburbs and your call-out fee, then ring it with a broken oven.
